your mindset changes a bit as you age. Right now, I'm starting to realize how precious and delicate life really is. When you're young, your own mortality seems like a myth. It seems so far away. And as you get older, you start to see people go before you, and this makes you respect and appreciate the life that you have, and that's value to the relationships that you build. And once you have kids, you just wanna live forever. So you don't miss a single time in their lives when they might need you. I remember being child free and asking people, All right, man, don't be asked me objectively. Tell me, what's it like to have kids? Don't say cliches like your life changes forever or the best thing that could have ever happened to you. But now I realize that these are accurate and correct statements and not just cliches. There's a sense of Zen to it because it can't be explained with clumsy words. It's like explaining to someone who's been blind their whole life what the color red looks like, whether you have kids or not. The point I'm trying to make is that life is short. On average, I might have 35 years left to go. That's only 14,525 days. That's hardly anything. So do your own calculation and realize how far you are along that progress bar of life. Sometimes you don't make it to the end, and something terrible happens in between whatever time you have make the best of it. Live every day to its fullest. Make memories with every opportunity. Seize the moment and enjoy times like the weekends and holidays, which provides you with the best chance to be in control of your life.
