For over 10 years I have been the ongoing character voice for a local hunting and fishing supply store. I have also narrated a trade show video and performed various character and announcer voices for radio commercials on a regional and national level.
My natural read lends itself to calm professional phone messages and training videos, the trustworthy spokesman for financial institutions and someone seniors can trust. I'm also effective for everyone from the buffoon next door to the cocksure pilot to the clueless 90s valley-guy. I can also affect some grit to promote that edgy movie or lighten it up for a sitcom. Or I can play it deadpan and sardonic.
As a copy writer I won an honorable mention at the 2001 Crystal Awards, an ad I also voiced a comedic character for.

I work from home so I'm nearly always available to record. As a 24 year radio veteran I am used to quick turnarounds and take pride in meeting or exceeding deadlines. I know your message is important and will work with you to make sure I'm hitting the right notes.
In addition to voice work I am also an experienced copywriter with a handful of local awards, and a national award, to my credit. I have a particular skill for editing out superfluous text to keep scripts snappy and to the point. I also spent 6 years producing commercials and radio imaging from the initial voicing straight through to the final mix-down for local clients and agencies.
My home studio is small but effective utilizing the Rode NT1-A Condenser microphone. I capture the audio to a PC through a Peavey USB mixing board and edit with Adobe Audition. I can forward the audio via email and Dropbox, a file sharing service. I am also on Skype if face to face communication is desired.
John has been a character voice for one of my largest clients ( Lyons Country Store & Ultramar) for the past 10 years. With a major competitor coming into town, the branding of Lyons has never been more vital. ‘Grampa” is real and clients have asked to meet him when they visit the store. He is a huge part of all of Lyon’s marketing efforts.Lyons
John is professional and has a very fast turn-around on providing us with the needed material and a pleasure to work with.
