I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, (USA), and earned a B.A. in Russian at the University of Pennsylvania. I went back for a second B.S. degree in Computer Science through Spring Garden College. I have worked as a computer programmer and as a mortgage processor as well as telephone work doing sales and consumer surveys. Right now I am learning Spanish from library textbooks and websites, making use of the skills I already had in languages. I have an interest in history, which is said to be normal for Philadelphians. My father was a mechanical engineer. I am fascinated by articles and documentaries about engineering projects, (only yesterday I paused during a busy work schedule because I could not resist a Bloomberg magazine article on the building of Maersk's new Triple-E class of container ships.) I would be a good person to voice such a project - my interest would carry through to the audience. I have an extensive vocabulary, spell faultlessly, and have learned to pronounce words in multiple languages. With the obvious exceptions of complex chemicals or proper foreign names, I don't think you could put any word in an English script that I couldn't pronounce on sight and I learn quickly.

Over twelve years of experience in a mortgage broker's office conducting face-to-face and telephone interviews with mortgage applicants, speaking with service providers to coordinate services and set up settlement meetings. This all relates to using my voice for business purposes.
In high school and middle school I took part in two plays for large audiences. In a somewhat abridged high school production of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," I played Polonius. (Even after the drama teacher's abridgements I still had the longest-winded character to learn after Hamlet himself.) In middle school, I performed in a classmate's original comedy play called, "The Problem with Potions," again with a major part. (With the caveat that there were only four or five of us in it, so all parts were major.) I also performed in a play before that in elementary school, but although my part was very visible it was unspoken. (It was done in a "Chinese" style with a "Property Manager" who was seen onstage but did not speak.) This is relevant in terms of whether I can perform without stage fright and learn a script; also in terms of ability to interact with others in a production.
Generally speaking, I enjoy being part of a larger effort, and I am by nature collaborative and cooperative towards achieving a project's success.
