Jim McNabb’s distinctive delivery is powerful, yet flexible. His voice is immediately recognizable to longtime Central Texans who connect him with broadcast news. Others will be drawn to his authoritative presence.
The voice is an instrument, and McNabb knows how to play it.
A narration, a character, an interpretative recitation, a “newscast”—He can and will do it all. Like almost everyone else in South Austin, he is a songwriter/singer with seven CDs. He is the TV "anchorman" in the film "Elvis and Anabelle" released on DVD, June 29, 2010.

For 40 years, McNabb practiced journalism in Austin, Texas working in all phases of the business, much of it on-the-air in both television and radio. He started as a DJ and ended up as managing editor of the NBC affiliate. It is rare in broadcast news to work in one market for most of career. Some people still think he's on the air.
